The official website of the Iranian judiciary in Fars Province, reported that two of the prisoners were hanged publicly in different squares of Shiraz, while the three others were hanged inside Adelabad prison.

According to the report the prisoners were identified as “A. P.” convicted of carrying 185 kilograms of heroin and 72 kilograms of crack, “A. K.” convicted of participation in selling 39 kilos and 800 grams of opium and carrying 9 kilos and 960 grams of opium, “M. A.” convicted og carrying 4 kilograms of heroin, “A. S.” convicted og keeping and selling 29 kilograms of Marijuana and more than 14 kilograms of opium, and “A. Z.” convicted of keeping 2 kilograms of heroin.

Age and gender of the prisoners was not specified in the report.

According to Iran Human Rights’ annual report on the death penalty in 2011, more than 80% of those executed in Iran were charged with drug-related crimes, while only 9% of them were identified by their full names.

One prisoner hanged in Western Iran

According to the official Iranian news agency IRNA, one prisoner was hanged in the prison of Doroud, Lorestan Province (West of Iran). The prisoner who was not identified by name, was convicted keeping 9 kilos and 618 grams of heroin, said the report.

Three prisoners were hanged in Northern Iran

According to the official website of the Iranian judiciary in Semnan province (Northern Iran), three prisoners were hanged in the prison of Shahrud early this morning, Thursday September 20.

The prisoners were identified as “M.M.”, “A. M.” and “M. R.” and convicted of “keeping and carrying large amounts of the narcotic substance crack”, said the report.

At least two prisoners were hanged in Urmia (Northwestern Iran)

According to the unofficial Kurdish news agency Kurdpa, sex prisoners were hanged in the prison of Urmia early this morning September 20. Execution of two of the prisoners has been confirmed by another independent source. These prisoners are identified as “Hashem Jahangiri” and “Iraj Deylami”, both charges with drug-related offences.

One man was hanged in the prison of Varamin yesterday morning January 5, reported the Iranian state media. According to the state run Mehr news agency, the man who was identified as Nazar Ali Moradi (53 years old) was onvicted of keeping 215 grams of heroin and 10 kilograms of opium. The execution took place in the Khorin prison of Varamin, said the report. According to the official and unofficial reports at least 34 prisoners have been executed during the first five days of the the year 2012.

According to the official and unofficial reports at least 33 people have been executed in the first five days of January 2012. Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the spokesperson of Iran Human Rights (IHR) strongly condemned these executions and urged the international community to react to these barbaric acts.

Three men were hanged publicly in Western Iran today :

According to the state run Iranian news agency Fars, three prisoners were hanged publicly in the Azadi (Liberty) Square of Kermanshah, west of Iran. According to this report the prisoners were identified as “Alireza Ahamdi” (48), Sadegh Eskandari (33) and Sasan Basami (36) and they were convicted of armed robbery of a bank in August 2011.

Kermanshah’s Liberty Square has been the scene of several public hangings in 2011.

One man was hanged in northern Iran yesterday :

According to the official Iranian media one prisoner was hanged in the central prison of Semnan (northern Iran) yesterday January 4. According to the Iranian newspaper Asr-e-Iran the prisoner was identified as “A. T.” and was convicted of drug trafficking.

Five prisoners were executed in southeastern Iran yesterday:

According to the Iranian news website five prisoners were hanged in two different prisons in Kerman province yesterday January 4.

According to this report three prisoners identified as “Mohammad A.”, “Ali N.” (both convicted of participation in carrying 14 kilos and 700 grams of heroin) and “Ahmad T” (for participation in carrying 12 kilos and 850 grams of heroin and 1700 grams of opium) were hanged in the prison of Kerman. Two other prisoners identified as “Alireza B.” (convicted of keeping and carrying 29 kilograms of opium) and “Hamzeh M.” (for keeping 2700 grams of heroin) were hanged in the prison of Bam, located in the same province.

A third prisoner was hanged in the town of Khoramdareh (west of Iran) this morning, reported the German news agency Deutche Welle, couting the Fars news agency. The prisoner who was identified as “R. Sh.” (age not known), was convicted of murdering another security officer identified as Behzad Jafari.

According to the Fars news agency “R. Sh.” has murdered the security officer Behzad Jafari on October 8th. two weeks before the execution.

According to this report several of those executed are Afghan citizens. The executions that were confirmed by the official Iranian sources seem to include the same prisoners that were reported by IAHD. However, the number of the executions reported by the official sources is lower than IAHD reported. According to the government newspaper Iran, the 22 prisoners who were executed yesterday are identified as:

(minor?) for transfer of 307 grams of crack into the prison, Saeed M. for participation in the carrying one kilogram of concentrated heroin, Ali P. for transfer of 410 grams of concentrated heroin inside the prison, Sharam Sh. for transfer of 670 grams of concentrated heroin into the prison, Abdulmajid M. for transfer of 391 grams of concentrated heroin into the prison, Karim Gh. for selling 49 kg and 500 grams of opium, Majid F. for transfer of 346 grams of concentrated heroin into the prison, Ali N. for transfer of 420 grams of concentrated heroin into the prison, and Hatem M. for transfer of 290 grams of concentrated heroin into the prison.

The rights group “Human rights and democracy activists” reported that several people were hanged in tehran’s Evin prison this morning. According to this report one of the executed prisoners was identifed as “Abdolhamid Rigi” (36), baluchi ciizen convicted of Moharebeh (war against God). The report didn’t mention the name or exact number of the other prisoners who have allegedly been executed in tehran today.

The official Iranian media didn’t mention today’s executions in Tehran.

Seven people were executed in Kerman province:

Seven people were hanged in the towns of Jiroft and Bam in Kerman province, south east of Iran, reported the official web site of the Iranian judiciary yesterday March 1. According to this report five of the executions took place in the prison of Jiroft and two in the prison of Bam. Those who were executed were identified as: “Mohammad Nabi N.” convicted of trafficking of 60 kilos of morphine, “Mehdi S.” for keeping and carrying 8 kilos and 145 grams of crack, “Ali Bakhsh S.” for keeping, carrying and selling 50 kilos opium, “Hamidreza D.” for carrying 31 kilos and 250 grams of heroin, “Sohrab N” for carrying 2 180 grams of heroin, “Malek N.” for keeping 900 grams of crack and “Saeed M” for participation in trafficking of 6 kilos morphine, 5 kilos heroin and 23 kilos of crack.

“Malek N” and “Saeed M” were hanged in the prison of Bam while the other five were hanged in the prison of Jiroft.

Three people were executed in Shiraz:

According to the official site of the Iranian judiciary in Shiraz, three people were hanged in the Adelabad prison of Shiraz. According to this report that was published yesterday, “A. A.”, “H. R.” and “S. K.” were convicted of “armed” drug trafficking of heroin and opium.

According to the same website, another person identified as “M. M.” was lashed 70 times in the “Khomeini square” of Lamerd , in the Fars province. He was convicted of stealing animals and sentenced to three years in prison and 70 lashes.

Execution of 8-11 people in Oroumieh:

According to reports from unofficial sources, between 8 to 11 people may have been executed in the prison od Oroumieh, north-west of Iran. According to the Kurdish news agency “Mokarian”, eight people have been execued in Oroumieh during the past days. However, HRANA, reported that nine people were executed in this prison on Monday Februart 28th. According to this report 7 of those executed were Kurdish prisoners and two of them were Azari. Two of the executed were women according to the report. The campaign for the rights of the “ethnic minority” prisoners reported that 10 people were executed in the prison of Oroumieh, Three of them were identified as “Hamid Bahadori”, “Sayad Ansari” and “Behzad Honareh”. Another unconfirmed report said that 11 people have been executed in the prison of Oroumieh on Sunday. According to these reports, all of those executed in Oroumieh, were convicted of drug related charges.

The prison of Khomeini Shahr:
One man was hanged in the prison of Khomeini Shahr early this morning reported the official Iranian news agency IRNA. The man who was executed was identified as “Mahmood Alaei” (24) and was convicted of keeping 3950 grams of opium and marijuana, 450 grams of heroin and 80 grams of crack. He was executed at March 2nd in the prison of Khomeini Shahr, in the central Iranian province of Isfahan, 6:30 early in the morning.

Official Iranian sources haven’t confirmed Oroumieh’s executions.

According to the IHR’s annual report on the death penalty in Iran in 2010, at least 546 people were executed in 2010 in Iran. According to this report there are more than 200 cases of unconfirmed executions in addition to the 546, that haven’t been included among in the annual report.

Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the spokesperson of IHR, condemned these executions and said:

” The Iranian regime uses execution as a tool to extend its survival”.
