Youtube banned in Bangladesh-Freedom of Expression highly questionable

YouTube Logo.svgThe Bangladesh government has banned you tube from its territory, highlighting the high violence content in you tube. The use of content filtering is done in order to avoid impending violence, reports the Internet Society Bangladesh Dhaka Chapter.

According to Faisal Hasan, PhD President of ISOC Bangladesh, “Muslims around the world are deeply shocked by the violence that is being erupted by few of the videos. The footages of seeing killing innocent lives as well as by the fact that the content is still available at the source has made the government banned youtube. There should be a global consensus about the content that fuels deadly violence. Content that has been flagged by thousands of people should be removed, immediately considering social grounds.”
