Zimbabwe: treason for watching mideast uprising video

Forty-five activists of Zimbabwe’s International Socialist Organization have been charged with treason for discussing political events in Egypt and other Arab countries.
“Zimbabwean prosecutors say socialist Munyaradzi Gwisai and 44 members of his organization watched videos of events in the Mideast and conspired to overthrow President Robert Mugabe and the government,” reports VOA.
With the wave of “people power” revolutions sweeping across North Africa and the Arab nations, you would think that out of all the autocratic rulers, Robert Mugabe would be the first to reflect and rethink his governing style. But what do you get? A typical mind-set of a dictator, thinking that trumpeting up false charges to strike fear among citizens would prevent a process similar to what’s happening in the Mideast from taking root in Zimbabwe!
