Servants of God through their network of Faith Based Organizations, the Inter-Religious Council for Peace Tanzania (IRCPT), have resolved to find a common ground in matters of Climate Change.
Behind this initiative was the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), which has sponsored not only the conference that took place at Kebby’s Hotel in Mwenge on Thursday last week, but also has sponsored similar gatherings on the subject and the publication of two books in the topic.
During the opening session Stephen Reith the Resident Director of KAS said that religious leaders are closer to their congregations which make it easier to disseminate the message on Climate Change.

U.N. General Assembly Looks at the Rights of Women and Children
Posted on | oktober 3, 2012 | No Comments
Last week hundreds of world leaders converged in New York City for the annual opening of the United Nations General Assembly; on the agenda were hot topics such as Syria, Israel and Iran. However, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the rights of women and children have also been on the agenda. Governments and aid organizations alike made pledges to improve the rights and health of women and children at the current session of the U.N. General Assembly. A number of countries are backing the Equal Futures Partnership, an initiative intended to increase the participation of women in business and politics (The Development Newswire blog).
This week, the United States signed a new Declaration on Women’s Participation. Next year, we should each announce the steps we are taking to break down economic and political barriers that stand in the way of women and girls. That is what our commitment to human progress demands. -President Obama’s Address to the United Nations General Assembly, September 21, 2011 (White House)

Posted on | oktober 3, 2012 | No Comments
While Islamic clerics and Muslim leaders are welcomed to the Obama White House with open arms, Christians are being arrested outside the gates to the White House by police officers for praying in public during a four-day demonstration that ended on Tuesday, according to several pro-Christian officials.
Close to 25 self-avowed Christians were arrested and charged with breach of the peace and unlawful assembly for kneeling and praying in front of the taxpayer-funded White House.
On Saturday, members of the group knelt on the sidewalk in prayer and were arrested by Capitol Police. The Christian group says that despite police arrests their public prayer demonstration will be conducted through Oct. 2, 2012.

The recent series of news on so called love affair between Pakistani foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar and co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari by Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury is perfect example of propaganda covertly packaged as credible news without sufficient transparency concerning the news item’s source and the motivation behind its release is very defamatory.
The news propaganda by salah uddin shoaib choudhury has violated the ‘ideal’ mission of journalism.

Iran’s currency, the rial, fell as much as 18% on Monday to a record low against the US dollar, according to media reports. It dropped to as much as 35,000 to the dollar, according to agencies citing currency exchange sites in the country. The currency has reportedly lost 80% of its value since the end of 2011.
The fall suggests economic sanctions imposed over its disputed nuclear programme are hitting economic activity ever harder. The rates were not available on the exchanges’ websites later in the day, supposedly because Iran did ot want to make known the full extend of the fall.
